We have had 4 nights since the last prayer letter where Brighton has slept one 4 hour chunk.  
That was beautiful.  Wonderful.  But it did not last.  We are tired, and distressed.

I have a lot of nicknames for Brighton.  Last night was one of the best nights we have had so far.  Brighton slept right next to Amy virtually all night long, which let her nurse him before he started getting cranky, and then she could even fall asleep while he nursed. I found this today on the New York Public Library Image Database.  I thought it apropos.  So, its Sunday, a day of rest.  Why?  God worked hard for six days making the earth out of nothing "ex nihilo" and then he wanted to rest.  So we will learn from his wisdom.  Today we are resting.  Soon we will have a baby on our hands and not be able to rest as much, today we will rest. Well. We just found out that Amy is in the early - early - earliest stages of labor.  She is beginning to dialate, and our little boy is already "dropped".  Please pray that he will wait a week and a half as our Midwife will be out of town until Friday after next. I had a full day of work today.  I pulled up a tile floor, well smashed it too pieces, and then pulled up the pieces, and generally worked on refurbishing my pastors bathroom. Hmm.  You run across some interesting things as you prepare for the first child.  Amy had these recommended to her recently from a friend of ours.  Apparently it helps reduce the amount of "sprinkle" that you get on yourself or the changing table during a diaper change out.  

We're getting closer, only about four weeks left.  I can't wait to see my son.

So, I got layed off recently.  I wasn't able to work the 50-60 hour weeks that my employer wanted me to work (given that my pregnant wife needs a present husband), and so with an 8 hour notice, he said goodbye.  So today, for the third day in a row, I am looking for temp. work because I have a job with World Harvest Mission lined up for the end of August. A little "after work treat" for my hard workin' hubby. He's spending his time as an art handler these days which has proven to be a tough, time-consuming endeavor.
